We are looking for a talented, ambitious and enthusiastic junior web designer to join our small, friendly and dynamic team.
Your key role will involve creative thinking, coupled with design knowledge and expertise in order to produce concepts and designs for web sites and applications.
This is a creative role that will provide you with the opportunity to express your creative flair, and gain solid experience and skills within a commercial environment. You will support our Creative Manager in developing web design concepts that will be translated into working solutions. Experience and interest in web design, website usability, SEO and good site architecture are essential. From time to time you will be asked to create work for print, so an understanding of print will be beneficial but not a requirement.
This role would suit a junior designer who is eager to learn and progress on a professional path. In return you will be given support, the opportunity for progression within our business and a chance to develop your career in a variety of directions. You will be an integral part of our in-house creative department and therefore we are looking for like-minded people that will fit in well with the rest of the team.
The ideal candidate must be able to:
- Create artwork in Adobe CS3+ using Photoshop and Illustrator (InDesign knowledge would be beneficial).
- Ability to produce a broad spectrum of web design work from funky & creative to corporate & clean
- Understanding of user experience, SEO and accessibility standards
- Have good presentation and communication skills
- Have a strong aspiration and be driven to continue producing excellent and creative work
- Demonstrate time management skills, with the ability to work towards strict deadlines and under pressure
- Work within a team as well as independently
- Help with maintenance of existing client work
- Have a can-do attitude, always happy to help and be willing to learn
- Be articulate as answering the phone from time to time will be expected
- Show meticulous attention to detail and quality
- Understanding of the web design/development process and a basic knowledge of HTML, CSS and other front end web technologies.
- Liaise with our creative manager, clients and project manager to produce the required work to strict deadlines
The successful candidate must have a very good portfolio of web design work.
Only applicants educated to a degree level or equivalent qualifications, with perfect spoken English and eligible to work in the UK will be considered for this role.
